Another trip to this superb birding area where photography is so much easier than the bird starved UK. The weather was variable but generally rather dull and occasionally wet but as always the birds were amazing.
One of the highlights of the trip was finding six pairs of Hawk Owls and those images can be found in the link below.
The high number of voles that had produced the bumper season for Hawk Owls also seemed to be attracting Rough-legged Buzzards and the Long-tailed Skuas on the tundra were clearly catching voles and displaying while there were several parties of Pomarine Skuas wandering around the area though we did not see any on the tundra.
